2014 Owen Sound Banner Exhibition

Today, I visited the Owen Sound Harbour and found my banner. Since 2009 I have entered an image each year and very fortunate to have 4 past banners accepted! After a year of exhibition all my banners have a final resting place with my outdoor oil paintings in my back yard. Soon I will have my own private painting gallery outside for visitors!

"France Series" started at Honfleur, France

2014 "France Series" begins......
with Honfleur located on the northern shore of France. I have seen a painting by Monet with these same buildings and reflections made centuries ago. I will soon be posting a new gallery of these paintings. There will be paintings from Honfleur, Monte-St-Michelle, Dinan, Monet's Garden, and of course Paris, France. Take a peak at the Gallery once in a while and there might be a new painting to view!

Painting is my passion. I love the challenge of creating a painting from a 2 dimensional photo image or a 3 dimensional plein air object.

As a watercolour teacher since 2001, I’ve learned to instill art appreciation to my students and promote creativity. I have proved the ability to maintain a highly motivated classroom and offer individualized support and provide encouragement to ensure that each student succeeds. I am mostly self taught, but enjoy taking workshops with other artists to learn and continuing growing as an artist.

Teaching Experience

· Group and Private Art Lessons since 2001 teaching watercolours and other mediums to all age groups (10 to adult)

· Design and present exciting lessons that actively engage students while educating on proper artistic methodologies and various technical aspects. Provide students with opportunity to reach their fullest potential through creative experiences, and cognitive strategies.

· Developed and implement various lesson plans utilizing age appropriate material and focusing on relative topics such as bird life, flora, architecture, waterfalls, landscapes, etc…

· Creation of over 100 original lesson plans enabling students to gain knowledge in the use of watercolour techniques incorporating mix media using wax, pen and ink, acrylics and photography.
