Artist trading cards are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artist create, trade and collect art at "swap" events, either in person or online. It is a great way to meet other artists and share your work. The only official rule is the size: 2.5"x 3.5".
How did the movement start?
In 1997, M. Vanci Stirnemann, a Swiss artist, created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. After that, the movement took off as other artists organized major "swap" events! Today, there are swaps in almost every major city around the world.
Would you like to trade with me?
They are fun to do & trade with other artists!

Weekend Art Retreat at Dragonfly Ridge
Artists were invited back by Lin Souliere & Carl Bell for a weekend art retreat in Lion's Head, in celebration of their 5 years of Guest Cabins.
Even though, the weather did not co-operate, the torrential rains and 70km winds did not damper our paintings! Lin's art studio provided a great place to paint, share stories and enjoy more than one glass of wine.
Thanks Lin & Carl for your hospitality.... Bev, Janet & Nancy

ART MAP: Open Art Studio Weekend
Oct 8 and 9, 2011
What a great Thanksgiving Weekend!
Weather reminded everyone of an August summer day. Even though we had a small number of visitors for the studio tour, artists had a chance to visit.
Thanks to my guest artists, Joanne Anderson, Yvonne Soper, Pat MacDowell, Cathy Kimpert and Faith Setley.
