What is Scratch ART?
 
Scratchboard or "scraperboard" is a paper or board surface that is finely and uniformly layered with clay (usually white) and then coated with dense black India ink.
The technique is simple - using a blade or stylus scratch into the top layer removing the black and exposing the white under layer. This technique is well suited for fine detail work and is favoured by many wildlife artists. (description taken from Curry's on-line web site)
I was inspired after visiting Australian artist, Judy Edwards web site. If you have a few minutes, goggle her name and you will be surprised and awed, as much as I was!!
